Friends of the White River advocate for a clean, healthy river eco-system. We will secure the necessary resources to educate, inform, and collaborate with the community, including individuals, educators, government, business and other organizations, to sustain the long-term viability of the White River as a unique natural resource of Indiana now and for future generations.
The Friends represent those who use the river for recreational purposes, those who live near its banks, and all citizens interested in the preservation of the river as a natural resource.
The primary purposes of Friends of the White River are to promote the continued improvement of the quality of the river’s water, and to maintain and restore habitat and wildlife in the river and along its adjacent greenway.
Friends of the White River sometimes takes a public stand on an appropriate public matter, per this policy (PDF, 41 KB) enacted by its Board of Directors.
Established in 1985, Friends of the White River is a not-for-profit corporation. For more information about FOWR activities and to get involved, contact Kevin Hardie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
