July 31 — The City of Indianapolis requested a continuance of at least 60 days on a hearing regarding the Warfleigh Levee project. DNR granted the continuance.
Friends of the White River continues to oppose a plan by the City of Indianapolis and the Army Corps of Engineers that would provide for extensive tree-clearing along the Warfleigh Levee from Westfield Boulevard to just above the Kessler Bridge on the city‘s northside.

The Hoosier Environmental Council is hosting a bicycle adventure — the Ride for the Mounds! Details: Saturday, September 19, beginning at noon; 15-, 25- & 45-mile routes all begin and end in Daleville, Indiana.
The ride will take place on scenic country roads roughly following the course of the free-flowing White River, near the proposed route of the Mounds Greenway. After the ride, there will be food, refreshments and a campout along the river in Daleville.
